Hello to you!
While the first week of January is all fun and games and Konmari-ing your entire life, I find the rest of the month stretches on forever. Don’t you think it’s been January for close to a lifetime already? Or is it just me?
Anyway, life right now is kind of meh but on the brightest of sides, my dog’s multiple near-death experiences have not stopped him from, you know, being alive. I know he’s only got so much life in him but I’m grateful that I get a bit more time. The vet has also informed us that his most recent x-rays are looking really great and the fluid is draining from his lungs. Good news! And while he’s recovering from idiopathic vestibular disease, we can begin to relax a bit. (Mostly because he’s taking his pills again and no longer falls down when he tries to stand.)
But enough about me and my dog! Here are some links to help entertain you this Wednesday. There’s some video game-y stuff, some window shopping, a recipe, and a bit of news from New Zealand. Hope you enjoy.
A friend showed me the Pikuniku trailer and it looks peak video game whimsy! Adorable and quirky and laugh-out-loud funny. I’m looking forward to picking it up and it looks like I won’t have to wait too long, because it comes out tomorrow! (The game is for Switch and PC, I believe)
Take a tour of a grandma’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf town. She’s banked almost 4,000 hours on the game, so it’s quite something
Some fans created their own Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild animation and it’s beautiful and amazing and wow! So much talent!
Road trips are still a distant goal of mine this year, but until Michael’s concussion clears up and Buddy’s vet bill is all paid off, they’re off the table. HOWEVER, if they were ON the table… wouldn’t this be the perfect weekender bag?
Stir-fried veggies are so comforting in the winter. I’ve seen yam leaves a number of times at T&T, and now I’m ready to give them a try! (From Woks of Life, same as the bread recipe linked above)
I’ve seen trailers for the documentary Free Solo (in which Alex Honnold climbs Yosemite without safety equipment) and am too scared to watch it, even though I know it ends well. This short think piece made me think more about it, and how I want to see it… but I’m still too scared lol
This is so, so hilarious but also upsetting because it’s real news but mostly, it’s hilarious: Bad Family Trashes New Zealand
